25.02.10 South London Women Artists at Dulwich Library and The Pavilion Cafe, Dulwich Park 28 February - 27 March 2010 I recently joined the South London Women Artists group - a community of over 100 women artists based in South London, who present an inspirational portfolio online and through exhibitions. I will be exhibiting with them for the first time at Dulwich Library and The Pavilion Cafe, Dulwich Park. The Private View is on 3 March 2010, 8 - 10pm at Dulwich Library, 368 Lordship Lane, London SE22 8NB. 02.12.09 In-House - The Kowalsky Gallery - 02 - 18 December 2009 I am showing some stained glass and my first engraved pieces at In-House, the staff exhibition at the Kowalsky Gallery. Featuring work by DACS staff members, it is an eclectic show with something for everyone! 08.11.09 New Gallery launched You may have noticed that I have been a bit quiet lately - this is because I have been busy learning how to make stained glass panels. After a few months of intense work I finally have some pieces to show and have launched a new Glass gallery on the site. As ever, all feedback gratefully received. I am also learning how to do glass engraving and hope to be able to put up some examples in the very near future. Watch this space... 01.07.09 Sydenham Arts Festival - 11/12 July 2009 Sydenham High School, 19 Westwood Hill, SE26 6BL I will be exhibiting work at the Sydenham Arts Festival at Sydenham High School as part of the Festival's Visual Arts Trail along with 70 other local artists. All the exhibitions are free and almost all the artwork will be for sale. Lots of venues, lots of art, great day out! More information: www.sydenhamartsfestival.com 02.02.09 New to DACS, The Kowalsky Gallery - 4 February – 24 April 2009 I have a piece of work in the New to DACS exhibition at the Kowalsky Gallery - a diverse exhibition with over 50 works by artists including Sandra Blow, Ben Johnson, Peter Lanyon, Victoria Hall, Sir Muirhead Bone, Endellion Lycett-Green, Harvey Daniels and many more. More information: www.kowalskygallery.co.uk. 17.05.08 Royal Birmingham Society of Artists - First Biennial RBSA Open Portrait Award - 09.07.08 - 30.08.08 I have been selected to show work for the very first Biennial RBSA Open Portrait Award. This is the first Open Portrait exhibition to invite all media from traditional to cutting edge. The exhibition will demonstrate the broad practice of contemporary artists and celebrate skills as well as innovation. Further information can be found on the RBSA website. 21.04.08 The Society of Women Artists - 147th Anuual Open Exhibtion at the Mall Galleries, London SW1 - 29.05.08 - 08.06.08 The 147th annual exhibtion of the Society of Women Artists will showcase a stunning collection of contemporary artwork by leading professional women artists alongside talented non-members. My piece 'My Family: Talk To The Hand' has been selected for the show along with around 500 other works of art. For further information about visiting the exhibition please visit the Mall Galleries website. 13.03.08 Romance - The Kowalsky Gallery - 02.04.08 - 06.06.08 I have a drawing in the new show at the Kowalsky Gallery - "Romance, an exhibition to celebrate Spring in a Leap Year - along with over 30 artists including Peter Blake, Rose Hilton, Tom Phillips RA, Shani Rhys James and Stuart Semple. The Kowalsky Gallery site itself is also a recent project. 12.02.08 Camden today Thanks to all the couples in Camden today who let me take their photographs - you were all exceptionally good looking and marvellously wonderful! 06.08.07 Waterloo Gallery Summer Open Exhibition - 5 - 18 August 2007 14, Baylis Road, London, SE1 7AA. Entrance: free. I have some work in the Waterloo Open Summer Exhibition - an exhibition of small and affordable work sold straight from the wall. The Private View takes place on 07 August from 7-9pm. 09.07.07 Urban Art 2007 - 21 August 2007 Josephine Avenue, London SW2. 10am - 6pm. Entrance: free. Once again I will be at Urban Art - London's favourite South London outdoor art event! Free entrance and you can see work from over 90 artists with prices from £50 to over £500. Running alongside the Lambeth Country Show its a great day out. More information on the Urban Art website. 24.06.07 Stick*Stamp*Fly - 10 - 26 August 2007 Gasworks is a contemporary arts organisation based in South London hosting up to six exhibitions a year. Stick*Stamp*Fly is an open submission project featuring the poster format. My poster 'Barely Adequate Parenting' has been selected for the show and will be exhibited at Gasworks from 10th-26th August 2007. Each Thursday evening from 7pm-9pm during this period, there will be events inspired by the poster submissions. Dates as above - times are 12 - 6pm and you can find me (and approximately 15 other artists) at: ASC Studios, The Former Maybrey Factory, Worsley Bridge Road, Lower Sydenham SE26 5AZ (see map). If you hike up to the second floor I promise I'll sort you out with a restorative glass of something nice! 01.12.06 The Empire's Christmas Art Fair: The Empire Gallery 16 - 24 December 2006 I have been selected to show work at the The Empire Studio's Christmas Fair. The Empire is housed in a converted Victorian Church in Bethnal Green and shows a consistently exciting and varied programme of exhibitions. More details about the fair can be found on the The Empire Studios website. 01.11.06 Pepperton uk's 4th Annual Exhibition - 01 November 2006 – 27 January 2007 Once again the Pepperton Gallery has kindly selected some of my work to feature in their latest exhibition - their 4th Annual Exhibition which runs until the end of January 2007. Further information and opening times can be found on their website. 29.09.06 Open Studio: 07/08 October and 14/15 October 2006. 11am - 6pm 63a Westcote Road, Streatham SW16 6BN I will be taking part in an Open Studio event at Westcote Studios as part of the Wandsworth Open House scheme. Nice-ish comments here. 28.06.06 Urban Art - Saturday 15 July 2006 - 10am-6pm This year I will be exhibiting at Urban Art - held in a tree lined South London street - for one day a year it is transformed into a bustling art fair and showcases work from over 90 artists exhibiting work in mixed media, photography, print-making and paint. Entrance is free and more info can be found on the Urban Art website. 28.06.06 'Tri Summer Fest'- Pepperton Gallery, July - September 2006 I have been selected to show two pieces of work at the Pepperton Gallery which is celebrating its 3rd anniversary with an exhibition exploring the theme of celebration through: food , festivity , summer and pleasure. Further information about the show and details of the Private View (Saturday 1st July 2006: 3pm till 9pm) can be found on the Pepperton website. 11.05.06 Update Half a Mile of Paintings I have news regarding Redrat Events - please click here to read more. 06.04.06 'In Quest' - Pepperton UK - 7 April 2006 – 27 May 2006 I have been selected to show work at the Spring '06 exhibition at the Pepperton Gallery. The show is called 'In Quest' and explores the notion of the artist in quest of their creative expression. The exhibition will run from 7 April 2006 – 27 May 2006 and more information can be found on the peppertonuk.com website. 03.04.06 Half a Mile of Paintings Just got back from the disaster that was Half a Mile of Paintings - the event was really badly organised resulting in visitors being virtually non-existent. If you are a fellow exhibitor looking for more information about our action against the organisers please click here. 02.03.06 Half a Mile of Paintings I will be exhibiting work at a new event in Sheffield - Half a Mile of Paintings - to be held at the Don Valley Stadium on Fri 31st Mar 2006 to Sun 2nd Apr 2006. The event includes a fashion show by Amanda Wakeley and live music. More details can be found on the organisers website. 14.02.06 Open House - 11.02.06 A huge thank you to all of you who came along and brought friends and family to the open house on Saturday. It was great to see you and thanks for making it such a successful afternoon. I really hope you enjoyed the event. I can also announce the winners from the various activities: The raffle winner was Andrew. Well done, I think the earrings will really suit you! The valentines quiz was won by Val.
